Today, Monday, November 18, 2024, marks a profoundly significant and historic occasion. Through the initiative of Kalu Rinpoche, and with the support of Bhutan’s central religious institutions, the authentic sacred relics of Gautama Buddha were ceremonially brought from France to Bhutan.

These precious relics are believed to originate from a stupa established during the time of King Ashoka over two thousand years ago. Their arrival has filled countless hearts with immense joy, devotion, and gratitude.

Gangteng Tulku Rinpoche especially requested that the sacred relics be invited to Gangteng Monastery in order to bestow blessings upon the entire monastic sangha and to provide devotees with the rare opportunity to pay homage and receive blessings.

On this auspicious day, the sacred relics traveled from Bumthang in eastern Bhutan to Gangteng Sangag Choeling Monastery. Thereafter, the relics were respectfully brought to Gangteng Buddhist University, further radiating the light and blessings of the Buddhadharma.
