Pema Lingpa Lineage
《The Great Perfection: Samantabhadra’s Gathering of Enlightened Intent》

Field of Refuge
In the past, the great treasure revealer Pema Lingpa brought forth the profound treasure teaching The Gathering of Samantabhadra’s Enlightened Intent from Samye Chimphu. This is an Atiyoga teaching, the pinnacle of the Nine Vehicles.
Atiyoga is further divided into the Mind Section, the Space Section, and the Pith Instruction Section. This teaching belongs to the ultimate Pith Instruction Section. The Pith Instruction Section is further classified into four categories: Outer, Inner, Secret, and Most Secret Unsurpassed. This teaching belongs to the ultimate category of the Most Secret Unsurpassed.
It is the innermost heart essence of the six million tantras. Its words and chapter divisions conform to the tantric scriptures; its empowerments and instructions are all of the nature of Nyingtik, the Heart Essence; all its meanings are pith instructions. Free from the elaborations of the Father and Mother Tantras, it gathers together the enlightened intent of all tantras. The samaya to be guarded within it is the single samaya of intrinsic awareness.
This supreme and precious treasure teaching was spoken directly by Guru Rinpoche and recorded in the handwriting of the wisdom ḍākinī Yeshe Tsogyal.
Within the Pema Lingpa lineage, there are three Great Perfection treasure teachings, famously known as the Father, Mother, and Son Dzogchen Treasures:
-The Father: The Gathering of Samantabhadra’s Enlightened Intent
-The Mother: Longsal
-The Son: The Single Son Tantra
Among these, The Gathering of Samantabhadra’s Enlightened Intent was transmitted by Buddha Samantabhadra himself.
In the treasure prophecies, Guru Rinpoche said:
“There is no second instruction like this, whether in India or Tibet.
It is what Garab Dorje held most dearly in his heart.
I, Padmasambhava, requested it and concealed it within the dharmadhātu of my heart.”
He also said:
“Although I have transmitted many instructions to many accomplished masters,
I have never revealed even a single word or half a phrase of this teaching.
This is the very lifeblood of my heart, bestowed upon Princess Pema Sal.”
And again he said:
“For one who encounters this instruction, what need is there to speak of attaining Buddhahood?
If one practices it for seven years, impure appearances will no longer arise,
and one will certainly dissolve into the radiance of the dharmadhātu.”
Since the vajra speech of Guru Rinpoche is never false, the rarity and preciousness of this Dharma need no further explanation.
